Shame
Have you ever felt Shame after you did something or said something embarrassing? It is a horrible feeling. So often, people wander in their heads and wonder why they said a particular phrase or did something they felt was inappropriate.
According to Daniels (2019), Shame is a powerful, intense emotion that plagues us. There are several different definitions and types of Shame. The one similarity mentioned above is that Shame brings about awful feelings. Shame can occur in organizations.s an agonizing emotion that surfaces when employees feel their work is imperfect.
Shame is an internal emotion that people define themselves as inadequate. Some create an identity for themselves by constantly doing or saying bad things. The feeling becomes so unbearable that people find themselves avoiding activities they feel they do poorly.
The worst part of Shame is others observing people noticing the imperfection or flaw in people and the horrible feeling shame brings. People often avoid activity, body image, and public speaking because they are concerned about inadequacy. The sad part is that people define themselves by perceiving what others think of them. They also stop themselves from an activity they could get better at.
