“The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice but conformity.” Rollo May

How can people find the Courage to create a harmonious world?

How much Courage does it take to be vulnerable and let their partner see their authentic selves? How much Courage does it take to live peacefully? Do you have the courage to dig deep into your soul?

Courage allows human beings to choose a new way of being. May discusses the ability to confront challenges. Courage can give us the purpose to change the world in some small way. Courage allows a person to become authentic. The ability to find ourselves, not just conform to others.

May sees the United States as a very violent culture. Physical Courage allows one to stand up against violence, act on the Courage of empathy, and show care for others.

Relationships involving authentic intimacy living with the fear of abandonment. The relationship becomes boring if one does not tolerate distance from their lover. They may cling to the other without allowing space. One might get bored in the relationship and need to leave. Thus making the fear come true.
